JERSEY completed their build-up to next Monday’s Cimandis Muratti Vase final with a comfortable 4-0 victory over Alloa Athletic Under-19s at Springfield on Saturday.

In warm and sunny conditions Island manager Dave Kennedy’s injury-hit squad won with two goals in each half, Jack Cannon and Craig Leitch netting in the first and teenager Michael Weir and James Scott in the second.

Alloa worked hard against Jersey but the physical strength of the home team kept the Scottish Division II visitors at bay for long periods.

Mr Kennedy said: ‘It was a very good work-out but as I said last week I’m still not any closer to a Muratti starting XI because of the number of injuries we currently have.

‘The lads who came in worked well. They certainly had to work hard for a victory today, and to score four very good goals nine days before a Muratti was pleasing.
