Singapore Jersey’s first World test
Tuesday 29th April 2008, 12:00AM BST.
JERSEY will bowl their opening delivery in the ICC World Cricket League Division V against Singapore at Grainville on Friday 23 May.
Fixtures have been released for Jersey’s debut in the WCL and it’s a busy schedule with seven games in nine days for each of the 12 competing countries – USA, Mozambique, Nepal, Germany, Norway and Vanuatu in Group A and Jersey, Afghanistan, Japan, Singapore, Bahamas and Botswana in Group B.
Jersey Cricket Board director of cricket Chris Minty said: ‘It’s a tough schedule for all the teams and we’re very much looking forward to hosting the tournament.
‘Obviously Jersey’s aim is to reach the final as the top two teams will qualify for the Division IV tournament in Tanzania in October.’
