Essentially scores with Sporteen

JERSEY-based sports marketing company Essentially Group has agreed a deal to acquire Sporteen, a leading UK stadium advertising firm, for £9 million.
Sporteen, which reported pre-tax profit of £0.97 million on revenues of ฃ5.1 million for the year to 30 June 2007, has exclusive contracts or relationships with the Rugby Football Union at Twickenham, the Scottish Rugby Union at Murrayfield, and the Welsh Rugby Union at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff.
The business sells advertising space for all the UK international rugby matches, as well as four international football associations and seven premier league football clubs.
Essentially’s chairman, Jersey resident John Byfield , said the acquisition was a further step towards the company’s strategy to become the leading sports marketing and media services company.
