Great Britton secures individual snooker title

GARY BRITTON defeated Aaron Canavan 3-0 on Thursday night to win the 2008 Channel Blind Company Individual Snooker League.

Britton, who dropped just two frames of the 36 he played in the League, came from behind to win the first 61-60 after Canavan missed the blue following earlier breaks of 25 and 31.

Canavan was 34-0 ahead in the second after a 23 break, but Britton responded with a 19. A foul and a miss by Britton let Canavan in again and leading 53-36 he left an easy green and from it Britton cleared up to win the frame 61-53 and the championship.

Britton also won the final frame 66-27, to finish as champion and three points ahead of Canavan.
