Holly: It was her heart
Saturday 3rd May 2008, 12:00AM BST.
HOLLY Deegan died of one of the rarest heart conditions in the world, an inquest has heard.
The four-year-old’s illness was so rare that only six other similar cases have been diagnosed worldwide.
And it was revealed that there was nothing that GPs, doctors, nurses, or hospital staff could have done to save the Samar่s School pupil who died at the General Hospital in February.
Holly’s mother Amanda Deegan (33) was surrounded by family and friends, including her 14-year-old daughter, at yesterday’s inquest to hear four doctors involved in the case give their evidence.
Later that afternoon the grieving mother sat through her husband Andrew’s inquest to hear details of how he killed himself close to his daughter’s grave last month.
