Plemont estate plan thrown out

A PLAN to build 36 houses on the Plemont headland has been refused by the Environment Minister.

Cheers and applause erupted from the audience at the public ministerial meeting yesterday as Senator Freddie Cohen announced his decision to reject plans to build on the former holiday village site.

The application, by Plemont Estates Ltd to demolish the ‘unsightly complex’ and build 36 houses, follows on from a past refusal in 1999 to build 117 houses and various other schemes which have been rejected over the last seven years.
