Mavericks end Durrell interest
Thursday 8th May 2008, 8:51AM BST.
LUTEA Mavericks recovered from the loss of an early wicket to defeat Durrell by 31 runs at FB3 in the SE Guy Memorial Cricket Trophy last night.
Andy Morris fell to a catch in the first over but Alan Morris and Matt Senior repaired the damage with an undefeated 50 and 45 respectively as Mavericks went on to total 139 for four wickets in their 12 overs.
Durrell took on the challenging score with opener Nall hitting an impressive 51, however the score was too big for a one-man effort and Mavericks finished comfortable winners.
Nick Richardson struck four boundaries in top-scoring with 30 for Walkovers in a 30-run win against Centurions B at Les Quennevais.
Bipi hit one six and three fours in reply for Centurions but they were tied down by some economical Walkovers bowling, the best by Bradley Vautier who took two wickets for eight runs in two overs.
Jersey Academicals defeated Jersey Post by 30 runs at FB2 where Wil Sinclair (two 6s and 3 fours) retired after making 51 for the Acs. Gareth Bayley played a good support role with five boundaries in making 41.
Phil Ord (6 fours) retired on 51 for Jersey Post while Jack Gibbs took two Post Office wickets in one over for five runs.
Jonny Gough top-scored in Rathbones OVs’ seven-wicket win against JUBRFC at FB1 where OVs won with three overs to spare.
