Jail for ex-addict who stored heroin in cottage
Friday 16th May 2008, 2:55PM BST.
A FORMER drug addict has been jailed for eight years after stashing over £331,000 worth of heroin in a cottage in St John for a large-scale Jersey dealer.
Jonathan Hasson (32) agreed to be the ‘caretaker’ of the drug after the dealer – whom he knew from his days as an addict – asked him to do one last favour.
But the stash, which was hidden in a garage next to the property, was uncovered when police received a tip-off and put the house under surveillance.
The Superior Number of the Royal Court was told that Hasson hid the package in the garage, which was being used as a storeroom by his girlfriend, Sarah Hubbard.
