A THREE-year-old girl who was rescued after a fire broke out at her home in First Tower has died in hospital.
The child and her mother (33) were left in a critical condition when they were overcome by smoke following a fire in the airing cupboard at the house on Mont Cochon.
The girl’s condition was so serious that she was due to be flown to Southampton Hospital for specialist treatment. But today police confirmed that the girl died in Jersey Hospital at 10.30 pm yesterday.
Her mother, who is believed to be from Ireland, is still in a critical condition in the General Hospital and has not yet been told of her daughter’s death. The woman’s parents left Ireland yesterday and were due to visit their daughter in hospital.
