New look for the JEP’s website
Monday 2nd June 2008, 2:59PM BST.
THE Jersey Evening Post’s website, thisisjersey.com, has a new look.
The site has been extensively re-engineered in the latest stage in the development of the paper’s electronic publishing activities in association with its sister publications in Guernsey and the UK.
The redesigned news, sport and business sections offer better illustration and more opportunities for readers to comment. Advertisers also benefit from more opportunities and new positions across the site, which also continues to be backed by the full range of the JEP’s classified pages. Advertisement positions can be bought on either a ‘tenancy’ or page impressions basis.
Former news editor Sue Le Ruez has been appointed JEP internet and community editor to work on the further editorial development of the site, the content of which will progressively enhance and reinforce the newspaper’s reach while also maintaining a general information service covering all aspects of Island life.
In the first three months of the year, the JEP reached an average of 55,587 readers a day across its printed and electronic platforms, which include both thisisjersey. com and a full electronic edition, subscribers to which include a growing number of Island-based and overseas companies.
Technical development for internet publishing is now being provided by MNA Digital, a subsidiary of the Guiton Group’s parent company, Claverley, working with Guiton’s internet manager, Darren Umney. MNA Digital are also providing the expert umbrella for the development of electronic publishing at Claverley’s three other evening newspapers, the Guernsey Press, the Express and Star in Wolverhampton and the Shropshire Star.
