OFFICES at the Magistrate’s Court were raided by police yesterday in a major operation targeting property deals abroad.
Police carried out a series of dawn raids on a total of six residential and business addresses in the Island early yesterday morning.
And it is understood that a senior public figure’s office was raided as part of their operation. Police searched premises, including an office in the Magistrate’s Court, after a warrant was issued relating to investment schemes on overseas property.
It is understood that officers from the financial crimes unit searched the addresses just before 7 am.
A statement released by police to the JEP yesterday afternoon said: ‘The States of Jersey police can confirm that searches have been carried out today at a number of residential and business addresses this morning, on the back of warrants issued in connection with concerns surrounding investment schemes relating to overseas property.’
