Where’s our grass?

From Hugh Gill.
NOT very long ago, the public were asked what they would like to see on the Waterfront. A very large number of people said they would like a park, with lots of green, green grass, where people could stroll and children could play.
Instead, we now have a hotel and a large number of apartments under construction, and lots of lovely concrete.
There used to be a piece of grass, just by the fountains, where the children could play in the summer and where the families could sit and picnic and which was big enough to put stands on when events were taking place. Now that has disappeared under a giant ferris wheel (with no by-your-leave or planning permission). And it will be there all summer.
I might be mistaken, but is there still a piece of grass on top of the underground car-park? Does anyone have any ideas how to make that disappear? Suggestions please to the Waterfront Enterprise Board.
