Governor opens global HQ for CPA

00565497_cropped.jpgTHE Lieutenant Governor, Lieutenant-General Andrew Ridgway, has officially opened the global headquarters for an intellectual property management specialist based on the Esplanade.

Computer Patent Annuities, which specialises in services such as patent renewals, design and trademark searching, employs 260 staff in the new offices, which take up the top three floors of Liberation House.

CPA was founded in Jersey nearly 40 years ago and now employs more than 1,000 people in eight countries, including India.

Chief executive Peter Sewell said: ‘CPA has undertaken strategic diversification over the past two years, with new business in India and the USA. However, we retain our long-term commitment to Jersey, which is reflected in our investment in our new office location.’
