Sloggers shock Saints

SLOGGERS sprang a big surprise in the opening first round matches in the JEP Brighter Cricket Cup last night by defeating Division I St John.
At FB1, the Division III minnows won by five wickets, with three balls to spare, after opener Steve Hopper laid the foundations with 33 runs off 40 deliveries.
St John were bowled out in 14.6 of their 15 overs. Andy Cadoret took four wickets for the second match running to finish with four for 23 – two of his victims taken with his first two deliveries.
Ben Le Fondré impressed for the winners as he featured in two run outs while also taking a catch.
