Walker on track for repeat of home victory
Thursday 5th June 2008, 2:59PM BST.
AFTER winning a race on his home event last year James Walker is hoping to repeat the feat as he heads to Silverstone for the World Series by Renault this weekend.
Last year’s win was at Donington Park track, but Walker is hoping to carry his momentum from Monaco last month, where he finished eighth, into the only UK race on the calendar this season.
‘Silverstone is a challenging track,’ he said. ‘It’s a technical circuit but also physically hard due to some high speed corners. I love racing there as there’s always an incredible atmosphere.
‘The World Series events are always very well-attended so I expect there will be a fantastic buzz at Silverstone.’
