Ethiopia connection earns Cooper & Co top US award

COOPER & Co in Halkett Place has been presented with an award by the US Ambassador to Ethiopia.

The award was announced during the Specialist Coffee Association of America’s annual conference last month in Minneapolis. Since last year Cooper’s has been a licensed distributor of Ethiopian trademarked heritage coffees.

The licensing scheme is an initiative set up to help coffee farmers and traders to get a bigger slice of the premium retail price.

David Warr, the proprietor of the Jersey firm, was presented with a Pioneer Licensee Award at the Hilton Hotel in Minneapolis last month. He is pictured receiving the award from Dr Samuel Assefa, Ethiopia’s ambassador to the United States
