Tuesday 24th June 2008, 3:00PM BST.
THE chief executive of multi-national oil and gas company Heritage Oil says that he intends to train Jersey young people for a career in the oil industry.
Tony Buckingham was interviewed following the company annual general meeting last week, which was held for the first time in Jersey.
Mr Buckingham has recently moved to the Island as a 1(1)k resident. He is also planning to open an operation on the Waterfront, although currently his office is in the Parade.
Heritage Oil, which is also listed on the Toronto stock exchange, was incorporated in Jersey at the start of the year and launched on the main market of the London Stock Exchange in March.
Mr Buckingham is pictured (top second left) in the company brochure, along with directors who include former Lieutenant-Governor Sir Michael Wilkes (far right)
