Security alert at States offices

Wednesday 25th June 2008, 4:00PM BST.

A CONTROLLED explosion took place outside Cyril Le Marquand House this afternoon after a security alert.

The States offices in the Parade had been evacuated and the surrounding area cordoned off by the police after the alarm was raised at around 1 pm.

A man was arrested and was helping the police with inquiries.
