Public asked for frank opinions on Jersey Post
Wednesday 25th June 2008, 2:56PM BST.
ISLANDERS are being asked to rate Jersey Post in the first consultation on the organisation’s service.
The Jersey Competition Regulatory Authority, which is conducting the survey, could use the results to set new standards for the organisation and ask it to improve on such things as delivery times. The consultation, which is part of the JCRA’s 2008 aims and objectives, will ask whether Jersey Post’s delivery standards are appropriate and whether additional targets should be set.
It will also ask about queuing times in post offices and whether there are issues with the percentage of items delivered correctly. Another major aim of the consultation is to ask what forms of compensation, if any, should Jersey Post be offering for mail that is delayed or damaged.
Chuck Webb, executive director of the JCRA, said: ‘We are looking at the widest possible consultation, so we want replies from businesses and individuals.
Visit the ‘latest news’ section of www.jcra.je to download a copy of the consultation paper or collect a copy from the JCRA’s offices on the second floor of Salisbury House, 1-9 Union Street, St Helier. The final submission date for comments is 5 pm on 29 August. Submissions should be marked Comments on Jersey Post: Quality of Service Consultation Paper and can be returned in hard copy, or emailed to p.hamilton@jcra.je or faxed to Paul Hamilton on 514990.
