With a first prize of £100 it took Rogers three rounds on her 11-year-old horse to take the title and that was despite a nasty fall in the second round on her second horse.

In the first round the ten jumps varied in height from 1.05 metres to 1.15m and there were only two clear rounds. The second round, the Puissance, had the jumps raised from 1.15m to 1.30m and unfortunately the riders who had the two clear rounds from the first round did not capitalise so five riders, all on four faults, went through to the third round, with Rogers winning it in a time of 33.47 sec. BSJA president Martin Mitchell, on Tiswas, was second in 35.25.

In the Junior Grand Prix the second round heights reached 1.20m and with Sammy Monnins on Selattyn Dancer achieving the only double clear it was not necessary to go to a third round. She received her trophy from Joanne Leonard from sponsors’ Leonard’s Electrics. In a tight finish Josh Baudains took second place on Pickets Pride Country Squire.
