Andrew Dann, managing partner for the Channel Islands, said discussions were in the very early stages but the firm hoped to have arrangements in place by the end of the summer.

‘We have started a project to see what work can be transferred,’ said Mr Dann. ‘For example, auditing work is not regulated. We also want opportunities from India, so it is a two-way street.’

The plans are in line with an initiative currently being promoted by the Economic Development department to encourage firms in Jersey to build business links with India. This might include outsourcing of back-office work in India (subject to regulatory approval) and the provision of private wealth management and corporate services to India’s growing high net worth population.
