Flying Brands shuts its cards division
Monday 7th July 2008, 2:59PM BST.
JERSEY home shopping firm Flying Brands is shutting down its greetings cards division, Greetings Direct.
The company says it expects future losses and closure costs to amount to around £1.7 million.
Flying Brands, based at Retreat Farm in St Lawrence, is listed on the London Stock Exchange and operates a number of mail order businesses based around gifts, gardening and ‘nostalgic’ entertainment targeting the older market.
The company has recently appointed a new chief executive, Tricia Killen (pictured), to replace Mark Dugdale. Mr Dugdale stood down in April to pursue other interests.
