Romerils’ defeat was their first of the season in the division and it threw the championship open with each club having three games to go.

It was the best day of the season for batsmen too as Phil Ramage and Steve Carlyon scored centuries for SCF while St Ouen’s 74-run win against Caesareans included in a century for the losers’ Pat Kelly and half centuries for Hugo Bishop, Mark Tribe and Dean Morrison for St Ouen.

Ramage’s century was his maiden three-figure score and with Carlyon they rattled up an entertaining third-wicket partnership of 230 runs. Ramage, who is from Yorkshire, cracked eight fours and two sixes while Carlyon struck 15 boundaries and one six.
