Family give coastal land to National Trust

JERSEY’S National Trust has been given over ten vergées of land by members of the Berni family, in memory of Frank and Lina Berni.
Up to six vergées of the land is situated close to L’Etacquerel Fort. An additional small wooded valley and reservoir was also given to the trust by the Berni family.
Mike Stentiford, president of the National Trust for Jersey, said that they felt deeply honoured to be charged with the duty of safeguarding the beautiful coastal area for the benefit of the Island.
‘It is truly wonderful that the altruistic spirit previously demonstrated by the likes of T B Davis and Lord and Lady Trent continues to thrive in our small Island community.
