Luxury hotel chain puts in Herm offer
Saturday 12th July 2008, 9:58AM BST.
A LUXURY hotel chain has made an offer to buy Herm, it has been confirmed.
Von Essen, which runs some of Britain’s most exclusive hotels, is one of a number of interested parties which have placed offers after current leaseholders Adrian and Penny Heyworth announced that they were selling up.
It is believed that the company has submitted the asking price of £15 million for the 40-year lease, although this has not been confirmed.
Mr Heyworth said that the company was one of several interested parties who had made an offer for the island. He said that all negotiations were subject to secrecy clauses, which meant they could not comment further on the offer.
