Blaze disrupts flights

0574018_2_cropped.jpgA MAJOR fire in St Peter caused flights to be suspended for a time yesterday evening.

Smoke billowed from the property Broadlands, on Mont Fallu, which is run as a lodging house and where a haulage firm is also based.

A number of gas cylinders exploded as firefighters tackled the blaze, which started at around 6.30pm.

Around 50 people were evacuated and arrangements were made for some of them to spend the night at the Parish Hall
