AIB Tigers swimmers Ian Black and Mike Le Couilliard have been training in the same pool as the world’s fastest man; world 50-metre freestyle world record holder Eamon Sullivan.
Less than 36 hours after arriving in Australia, Black and Le Couilliard found themselves in hallowed waters with the West Australian, a hot favourite for Olympic gold in three weeks’ time, writes Andy Bradshaw.
Last February Sullivan removed legendary Russian swimmer Alexander Popov’s name from the record books when he demolished his own personal best time with a staggering 21.28 seconds at the Olympic Trials.
Former AIB Tigers coach Matt Magee, now head coach at City of Perth SC, said: ‘The boys got off the plane on Thursday and were in the water that night.
