SEVEN of last season’s successful under-15 Jersey Secondary Schools’ Star Trophy football squad are being tracked by professional clubs.
With four already attached to clubs for the coming season, three more are away this week attending trials.
Defender Matthew Rondel and winger Nick Carpenter are at FA Cup winners Portsmouth while right back Keiron Devereaux is spending a month a newly-promoted Premiership Hull City. Rondel, who was awarded the Jersey Football Association’s Sid Guy Trophy in May, is also to spend next week with Liverpool.

Other Star Trophy squad youngsters attached to pro clubs are Kamen Nafkha and Jake Baker, who have signed schoolboy forms for Portsmouth. Marco Zocchi and Charlie Petulla are linked with Bournemouth and Leeds United respectively, the former who has signed to play for Bournemouth’s Centre of Excellence.
