The bank put on a host of novel fund-raising activities to continue in its bid to raise £30,000 for four charities this year – the bank’s own charity Seeing is Believing, Headway Jersey, Jersey Cheshire Home and the Machakos Technical Institute in Kenya.

The week-long anniversary celebrations started with the bank’s sponsorship of the Carlos Bonell concert, organised by Music in Action, This was followed by a family day at Durrell for staff members and their families. Other money raising ideas included a relay marathon run on a treadmill, a dress-down day, a Wimbledon tennis sweep stake, a grand raffle, and cake sales.

Jennifer Carnegie, head of corporate affairs, hailed the anniversary celebrations as a great success. ‘We have raised around £13,000 from the activities and the money is still coming in, so we are well on the way to achieving our goal of £30,000 for the year as the aggregate is around £15,000,’ she said. ‘It’s been a great success and we’re delighted.’
