Farewell, friends

0579884_cropped.jpgAFTER seven years in Jersey’s Methodist Circuit, Deacon Malcolm Salmon is leaving the Island this month to take up a new appointment in his home county of Cornwall.

During his time in Jersey, Mr Salmon has carried out youth work with various clubs and societies and has been chaplain of the girls and boys brigade.

But he found time in his busy schedule to meet and marry his South African wife, Nicky. The couple and their three boys plan to come back to Jersey on holiday to visit their friends and Nicky’s parents.

Mr Salmon said that he will miss Jersey but is looking forward to going home. ‘The friendly nature of the Island is unique and something I will miss,’ he said. ‘I have been involved in the life of the church and community for seven years and I’ll miss people I got to know.

‘We will miss Island life but we have been blessed since we have been here and give thanks for that. Jersey will always be a part of us.’
