SOUTHAMPTON Football Club chairman Michael Wilde is keen to bring his Coca-Cola Championship team to play against Jersey at Springfield.
Now in his second spell at the club, he returned in May, Wilde is excited about the season ahead for the Saints while at the same time he is keen to strengthen the links between the South coast club and the Jersey Football Association which he supports financially via the Wilde Family Office.
A year into a three-year partnership with the JFA, into which he has injected the largest sponsorship in the Association’s history, Wilde is happy with the progress the Island’s officials are making together with them going about their business for an improved games programme as they search for a possible route into European football.
Wilde said: ‘I became involved with the JFA because I liked their vision for football. We are a year down the line and I’m happy with the way things are going. It’s moving along nicely; there are more matches for the representative teams and they are dealing with their financial deficit with the introduction of the membership scheme and I’m told it’s going well.
