LA Mare Vineyards’ black butter has won a national award.
The product has won two gold stars from the Guild of Fine Foods Great Taste Awards 2008.
The black butter, produced by La Mare’s head chef and chocolatier, Darren Stower, was shortlisted from some 4,800 entries to win the accolade.
La Mare managing director Tim Crowley said that the beauty of black butter was that it was a unique product. ‘It has a taste all of its own and is not a product made to follow any trends,’ he said.
