Harcourt lawsuit is alive and well, says US attorney
Friday 15th August 2008, 1:55PM BST.
CLAIMS that a Las Vegas lawsuit against developers Harcourt have been dropped have been branded ‘misleading’ and a ‘half-truth’ in the USA.
In a statement released to the media yesterday, Harcourt Developments said that the allegations of ‘fraud and conspiracy’ against them had been dismissed.
But the attorney acting for Las Vegas developers, Glen, Smith and Glen Developments, who are suing the Irish company, told the JEP that the case is far from over and have accused the company of trying to mislead the media.
The Las Vegas lawsuit caused controversy in the States earlier this year when Chief Minister Frank Walker originally denied the existence of it during the Waterfront debate. Senator Frank Walker was later forced to apologise, saying that he had been misled about the lawsuit. Harcourt are the preferred developers of the new £330m Esplanade Quarter.
