JERSEY milk, cream, butter and yoghurt have been tasting success in the UK.

Pasteurised whole Jersey milk was top in its category at the Great Yorkshire Show last month and Jersey Dairy’s whipping cream won a gold top at the Nantwich International Show.

In Yorkshire, judges also liked the taste of Jersey Dairy yogurts and butter. The lemon curd flavour whole milk yoghurt and lemon curd yoghurt desserts were voted second in their category, as was the group of four yogurts, while Jersey natural whole milk yogurt won third place.

In the retailer butter and salted butter categories Jersey Dairy won second and fourth places.

At Nantwich, in addition to the gold award for whipping cream, judges awarded a bronze for Jersey single cream and highly commended for the double cream. They awarded silver to the Jersey Dairy luxury lemon curd yoghurt, in the fruit yoghurt category.

Janet Wyatt, head of quality at Jersey Dairy, said that the dairy was delighted to have won so many prizes at these two major British shows. ‘Jersey Dairy is focused on increasing exports and maintaining the Island’s reputation for producing high quality and nutritional dairy products. We hope these awards will help develop national recognition of the range of excellent products available locally,’ she said.
