A contrite firm would have cleared this up
Wednesday 20th August 2008, 3:00PM BST.
From Christopher Davey.
THE news that Ged Sparks Plant Hire are being investigated for ‘possible illegal dumping at sea’ is more than welcome and long overdue.
What is utterly incomprehensible is why they have not already long since got out there and cleared up every last vestige of their ghastly mess themselves and, failing that, why the Environment department has not already told them to get to it. The law is very slow, very expensive – and its application not always necessary if the perpetrator is contrite.
