Bourgoise’s county title

A LEVEL-par round of 72 took Jerseyman Vic Bourgoise to the Hampshire Seniors Championship title last week.
At Rowlands Castle Golf Club, the Royal Jersey member saw off the challenge of 50 others to go one step further than last year.
Bourgoise, pictured, said: ‘It was sweet to win after what happened last year, when I lost at the second hole of a play-off – which is exactly what happened to me this year in the Jersey Seniors Championship.
‘I was happy with my form on the day. I had one birdie and a bogey over the opening nine holes before returning with all pars on the back nine.
‘I’m really pleased to have won because last week was the first time I had played the course at Rowlands Castle. I went a day early and played a round in the pouring rain, and I’m really glad I did because there were several quirky holes, a bit like there are at Grouville with the 15th, 16th and 17th.
