Clayton reaches last 16

JERSEY’S Scott Clayton is again through to the last 16 of a UK nationwide tennis tournament.

Following his success at last week’s junior British Nationals, the 14-year-old has reached the next round of the prestigious Road to Wimbledon competition, being played at the All England Club.

Clayton, pictured, beat George Irwin from Berkshire 6-3, 6-4 yesterday and has now equalled his feat from last week’s competition. He is now aiming to go one better today and reach the quarter-finals of the tournament.
