In Jersey, the pass rate was 99.0% compared to 98.4% in the UK, and Island students also recorded a greater percentage of A*s, As and Bs than their fellow students in the UK.

Education Minister Mike Vibert said that he was very pleased to see another set of excellent results from the Island’s schools. ‘The examination results have exceeded expectation, and we yet again see evidence of the effectiveness of our Education Service,’ he said.

In many of the schools, there was even greater cause for celebration as pupils achieved the highest grades in their school’s history.

At De La Salle, for instance, students achieved their highest ever number of GCSE passes.
