A green day out …

Whereas some major outdoor events leave behind a permanent and often unsightly mark on the landscape, Saturday’s one-day festival was all about caring for the environment.

The festival, which was held on a seafront site between El Tico and the Watersplash, started with a beach clean and was aimed at promoting ‘green, clean and responsible living’ and at being carbon-neutral and waste free.

It featured a range of stalls and attractions, as well as food outlets and eco clothing stores.

A number of Jersey businesses demonstrated their green credentials and Islanders learnt about how they can be more environmentally aware.

Organisers even brought a recycling centre to the festival village.
