Ramsey hits five in Scots’ win
Wednesday 27th August 2008, 3:00PM BST.
JERSEY’S under-18 footballers found Scotland under-16 forward Conor Ramsey too hot to handle last night as the youngster scored all five of his side’s goals in a comfortable victory over the hosts at Springfield.
Before a healthy crowd of over 500, the 15-year-old St Mirren striker showed his class with a quality hat-trick before half time and then two more clever finishes in the opening dozen minutes of the second half before Jersey defender Luke McGlone nodded home Jersey’s late consolation.
Scotland, now annual visitors and warming up for the forthcoming international Sky Sports televised Victory Shield tournament, were again impressive to watch as they stroked the ball around with purpose and pace.
Jersey lived with Scotland for around 20 minutes but Scotland pulled away because they were full of running and with Ramsey in majestic form Jersey were run ragged at times.

BIRD WATCH 2012
Click here to record your results
The 11th Great Garden Bird Watch took place over the weekend, Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 February. JEP readers were asked to get on board to help monitor bird life in the Island.
Would it be possible for someone to confirm if a programme was issued for the Jersey V Scotland match. I would be very grateful for any information.
Yours in Sport,
Jim Crawford.
