Eight weeks of traffic disruption
Saturday 30th August 2008, 9:56AM BST.
DRIVERS are being warned to brace themselves for traffic disruption in town for the next eight weeks.
In the same week as children go back to school, and the roads become busier, Transport and Technical Services will start the second stage of a major sewer project.
The work begins on Monday 1 September and will close the Val Plaisant, Midvale Road and David Place junction.
The department is halfway through the sewer and drainage upgrade project which began last November and runs through to the beginning of next year.
The project, which is eight weeks ahead of schedule, involves installing several pipes for foul and surface water sewage to manage the flow by separating rain water from domestic foul sewage.

Digging roads!!!!! we don’t no nothing of the kind!! I just think we should hold people responsible , for so many roads works at the same time this year ,and maybe consider their position.
And the only reason our politicians decided to go ahead with so many road works in the sommer is that they are on holiday , and their BMW, SLK, MERCEDES ETC have air conditioning, let me tell you that, it’s time that our politicians considered people before their irresponsible decisions i want to like you but i cant
