Showing the way back to work

A NEW back to work training initiative has been launched by Workwise in conjunction with local businesses.

The scheme has been piloted successfully in partnership with Sandpiper, allowing several Workwise customers the chance to gain four weeks experience in retail.

Known as the Introduction to Retail Programme, candidates are selected through an interview process. They are then given an insight into all aspects of the industry including customer service, administration, finance, buying, and operations.

An Introduction to Hospitality Programme is soon to commence and will involve the Radisson SAS Hotel. Workwise assistant job coach Lee Mack highlighted the importance of giving those looking to return to employment a real experience of working life.
