Voters sign up to have say on French time
Tuesday 2nd September 2008, 2:59PM BST.
MORE Islanders might be signing on to the electoral roll so that they can have their say on the move to Central European Time.
The referendum on moving the clocks forward an hour is being carried out at the same time as this year’s elections for Senators and Constables on Wednesday 15 October.
It is understood that some Islanders have been adding their names to the electoral roll just so they can have their say on whether or not Jersey should break with the UK and shift towards Europe.
A mobile booth for Islanders to check whether they are registered and add their names has been in St Helier over the last week, and leaflets on the proposed time change have also been handed out. But it is understood that many members of the public are registering to vote because they are more interested in voting for the time change referendum and not the forthcoming elections.

I have not been following this debate due to other commitments.
However have I missed the section of debate that covers how this time shift will affect our business dealings with our closest partners in England?
And how many people on the Island understand that they will inevitably find T.V. viewing restricted unless they are happy to stay up very late to enjoy post watershed programms
