David Roberts (18) and a 17-year-old who cannot be named for legal reasons were sentenced to 14 months and nine months of youth detention respectively. Roberts, who also admitted drugs and motoring charges in the Royal Court on Friday, was also banned from driving for two years.

The two were arrested at the Hotel Ambassadeur in St Clement on 12 April after forcing their way in through the locked doors and assaulting the manager. They were restrained by the manager and another staff member until the police arrived.

Roberts was also sentenced for several other offences, including supplying cannabis and intending to supply the drug on 4 March at Albert Pier, when police found him in a car with 15 small bags containing 50 gm of herbal cannabis. And he was also sentenced for stealing a car, driving without licence or insurance, two counts of attempting to steal car and a motorcycle, and stealing a £200 CD player.

i seemto read as a every day happening, young yobs striking around your island. jersey was the best, and safest place to come on holiday, but now it is not much better than where i livenear london.
i think this is total loss of respect by these yobs for any one, or any thing, so why should the police respect them. go back to the good old days when your police were real men, and used to hand out there own justice there and then, and give you a clout.you must take it in hand before it is to bigger problem to handle, like it is in croydon where you would not go on holiday because of its trouble. it must stop now
