At last we have a fair nursery education system – but only because of these hard-working campaigners

From Zoe Bisson.
AT long last the States have agreed to invest in early years education by introducing a fairer and equitable system for ‘most’ three- to four-year-olds.
I personally welcome the decision, but would like to point out that this would not have been achieved at all had it not been for the five years of campaigning, dedication, commitment and hard work of two very special people – who have always only had the interests of the children in their eyes – Val Payne and Janice Baker.
The politicians need to remember that they may have had the power to make financial decisions but quite often receive credit for actions that they have been forced to take because of the pressures placed upon them by the public and the desire to be seen to be responsive.
So once again many thanks to Val and Janice and many parents, including the Parents Action Group whom have campaigned and worked hard for this funding for our children.

Should read:- “At last we have a fair nursery education system – but only because of these hard-working campaigners (and an election just around the corner)”
Strange how, after years of sustained pressure by the likes of Zoe Bisson, the money is ‘found’ to make it fair just before an election.
Electorate, please do some research and discover who had previously been stifling this matter.
