International tournament confirmed
Wednesday 10th September 2008, 2:59PM BST.
THE Jersey Football Association will host a three-team small nations tournament in November.
Madeira, Jersey and Island Games champions Gibraltar will play in a full on round-robin tournament at Springfield with the games taking place over three consecutive days starting on Friday 7 November.
Madeira and Gibraltar will kick off the tournament on the Friday evening with Jersey then playing Gibraltar on Saturday afternoon followed by Madeira on the Sunday afternoon.
JFA officials are continually looking to find a competitive games programme for their teams and they have acted on the suggestion of a small nation’s tournament which was suggested by former Football Association chairman Geoff Thompson on a recent visit to Jersey.
