The Island has many fine experiences – but the seafront is a concrete mess

I HAVE just spent another enjoyable week in Jersey, despite the weather, and hope to return to the Island next year. I am over 45 and read with interest the tourism article on 2 September by Carly Lockhart.
Corbière is my favourite place in the Island. It is the least spoilt and hopefully will remain so for many years. I thought it made a wonderful view to promote your Tourism drive – but then I read Anna Plunkett-Cole’s comment column (JEP, 6 September).
I would like to inform Ms Plunkett-Cole that standing at Corbière in a Force 5 or 6 wind is a fine experience in your ‘little Island’. So is walking along the beach at St Aubin and swimming at Grève de Lecq. Jersey has so much to offer in all weathers.
She would have been better commenting on the gradual destruction of the Island by too many buildings going up. The seafront is a concrete mess, and more is being built. Soon there won’t be any beauty spots, and it will look like any other tourist resort with flats and indoor swimming pools, bars and nightclubs – come to Jersey and see the concrete!
Don’t destroy your ‘little Island with its fine experiences’. Leave well alone and be different. Enjoy Corbière in all weathers. It is never the same twice.

Do you really thing that anyone on this Island takes a flying boot what you and
any other Holiday maker has to say about the island and the way it is going?
This Island is far too greedy to take notice of how the ” Visitors” are not coming back year after year..
