Saddling up for Youth and Friendship
Sunday 14th September 2008, 8:00AM BST.
MORE than 100 riders, from a three-year-old on the leading rein to grandparents, took part in this year’s sponsored ride in aid of the Jersey Association for Youth and Friendship.
The event started and finished at the Pony Club field at Mont Cochon. The half-way point was near St Martin’s Arsenal, where there was an opportunity for some welcome refreshments.
The riders were able to follow the route at their own pace. Planned by the Jersey Drag Hunt and Chase Club, this passed through the northern parishes including coastal bridle paths around Bouley Bay, Egypt and Les Platons.
Money raised from sponsorship will go towards the running costs of the association’s local hostels which provide homes for disadvantaged young people.
