The first event of the ‘Meet the Buyer’ scheme is being held in partnership with Sandpiper CI in the hope of getting more local produce and goods supplied to the Checkers stores.

Sean Pritchard, Jersey Enterprise’s director of business creation and growth, said: ‘We are focused on supporting the development of local businesses, and there are many local producers who may be only supplying farm shops at the moment but have the potential to scale up their business in order to supply bigger retailers.

‘Meet the Buyer events will enable small producers to find out what large firms expect from their suppliers, and with the help of Jersey Enterprise and the Economic Development Department, scale up their businesses so that they can meet those expectations.’
