Foundations Built on Trust
Friday 19th September 2008, 3:00PM BST.
THE proposals for Jersey’s new Foundations Law will be presented to a London audience next week when Jersey Finance and the Jersey Association of Trust Companies hold their annual conference.
The latest developments in the global markets are also likely to be aired at the event on Wednesday from 4 pm to 6 pm, at the Plaisterers’ Hall, London Wall. The presentation will be followed by a drinks reception.
The theme of the conference will be Jersey – Foundations Built on Trust. The former Lord Mayor of the City of London, Sir John Stuttard, will open the event and there will also be a panel discussion chaired by broadcaster Sarah Montague.
Speakers include a number of Jersey practitioners, including Alan Binnington, director at Mourant Private Wealth; Jason Laity, executive director at KPMG Channel Islands; and Phil Le Cornu and Steve Meiklejohn, partners at Ogier. Also speaking will be Geoff Cook, chief executive of Jersey Finance, John Harris, the director general of the Jersey Financial Services Commission (pictured), and Gary Telford, head of private client tax at PricewaterhouseCoopers in the UK.
